Specialty pharmacy launches near Boston Children’s Hospital aiming to help overcome barriers to care

Boston Children's Hospital and Shields Health Solutions partnered to launch Boston Children's Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy, right across from the hospital to help young patients and families get better access to specialized pharmacy services including help with prior authorizations, and specialized medications.

Walgreens buys $970M majority stake in specialty pharmacy company Shields Health

Walgreens bought a 71% stake in Shields Health Solutions, which strikes partnerships with hospitals to run specialty pharmacy programs. Walgreens has the option to buy the remaining equity interests in the future.
